Recently, I decided to step into two collaborative research projects to support the coordinator. As an independent consultant, I am heavily involved in research strategy development, proposal preparation, and grant writing. Being a self-made research manager, I have experienced the added value of combining pre-award and post-award roles. Knowing how proposal implementation, compliance with the funder rules, and consortium coordination work in daily practice has helped me a lot in developing and writing more realistic and feasible proposals. It is great to be offered the opportunity to strengthen this important connection between pre-award and post-award in my current work. Building on my experiences and being part of a team with an experienced coordinator and a skilled management assistant makes the combination with my pre-award services perfect. And it is truly inspiring and rewarding to work with smart researchers for a longer period of time and contribute to a consortium’s success.
